  I've lived in close proximity to San Francisco (as it has to my heart) for most of my life, but have never been lucky enough to call myself a local. As many times as I've been to and enjoyed this enchanting metropolis, I've mostly tackled it like an errand. Shoe shopping. A jaunt. Dinner and a show.   Yesterday I had an Edie Sedgwick themed fashion shoot planned with this magnificent metropolis as a backdrop. Very late the night previous, I was informed that my makeup artist had contracted swine flu and couldn't make it. What's a girl to do??

  After a day of planes, trains and automobiles (read: peanuts, fast food and Power Bars) in the midst of a spot of chilly damp weather, my travel companion and I were absolutely lascivious for some real, steaming, punch-me-in-the-face indian food. Being in no mood to experiment with our ravenous hunger, we opted for the tried and true: Lahore Karahi ( http://www.lahorekarahisanfrancisco.com/ ), a hole-in-the-wall pakistani joint on the edge of the Tenderloin.   If there are two Top Things I love in this crazy world that both start with an S, they would be San Francisco and Shopping. Which is why, when the San Francisco Visitors Bureau offered me one of their patented Stay & Shop SF packages the weekend before I was due back in California, I sure as hell changed my plane ticket double-quick-like.
